What is Living Food?

GreenJuice

‘Living Food’ or 'Raw Food' is eating a plant based food that has not been cooked over 118 degrees Fahrenheit and has retained almost all its energy, nutrients and enzymes that are usually destroyed in cooked foods. It is simply a vegan diet containing a high percentage of organic fruit and vegetables with nuts, seed, grain and beans etc. It does not include the refined sugars or salts which is highly used in our foods today. The idea of raw food is to retain the enzymes and nutrition in our food as much as possible that helps us give energy, vitality, youth and health. I’m not a doctor or nutritionist but I know how I feel when I’m following a plant based diet that is high in raw ingredients. In fact the difference is incredible. I feel much more alive, positive and energetic compared to how I feel when I’m on the ‘SAD’ (Standard American Diet) most of us are so used to. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve made mistakes and I’m still learning, but when I make these mistakes it only fuels my belief in a plant based diet. There is an increasing amount of evidence that a plant based and/or a raw food diet has help to cure many illnesses from irritable bowl syndrome to diabetes and in some cases cancer. Since starting my own raw food journey I have spoken to many people who have used raw vegan food to help them overcome many of these illnesses. In America and the UK people are already demonstrating how good raw food can be. A lot of exciting and tasty food is currently being developed through recipes such as pizza’s, curry’s, pates, chocolate cake and cookies.
